Our Definition of Permaculture Education:

Permaculture education nurtures sustainable cultures that continue to evolve. Rooted in an ethical foundation of both earth care and people care, we are a strong global movement with real solutions for the compounding climate crisis. We achieve interconnected outcomes from cleaner water, soil, and air, fresher food, less deforestation, rich wildlife habitat, to healthy hearts with peaceful and empowered communities. Permaculture education provides information through design theory and practice.

But beyond instilling knowledge, we equip and support the learner to become the next pioneer. Learners grow to develop their own application of principles, strategies, and techniques. Permaculture education fosters the next generation of researchers.

Without immediate benefit to the learner, Permaculture education would have passed like many fads. The connection between learning and tangible results is a strength of Permaculture education, providing evidence-based methods with quick results. At the end of the day, Permaculture education gives every participant a better future.

Permaculture Visions Cyclic Approach

With support from past graduates, we have developed a program to provide tailored, mentored, affordable courses in Permaculture.

Our Teaching Project is award winning and our students thrive and grow.

Leading Online and Offline

April Sampson-kelly and Bill Mollison her permaculture mentor

Today you will find lots of online courses in permaculture. In fact, our graduates teach many courses on and offline.

We choose to keep our teaching project small so we can enjoy our work, keep it real,  listen and respond. As a result, we have learned There is a big difference between making money and making a living.

We enjoy living the permaculture way with days full of variety, creativity, innovation (some failures) and social interaction.

How did we survive so long?..How did we grow such a broad reach?.. What has helped us build our teaching experience?  We simply listened and responded to our students needs.

We have built a huge course database that showcases excellent work by international projects and students worldwide.

Do you need someone to motivate you? Then it might be wise to do our hybrid training or go to a local face-to-face course.

Free to Serve the People Who Truly Matter – You

Neither Funding bodies or external curriculums governed our teaching method and content. We tailor our course to suit our students and it evolves with their needs. However, we do follow the guidelines set by the Permaculture Australia Association.

In addition, the vision of pioneers such as Bill Mollison, David Holmgren, Rosemary Morrow, Jude and Michel Fanton, Robyn Francis and many other great Permaculture innovators worldwide have continue to inspire our work.

Overall, we are proud of our graduates work.

Permaculture Visions Cares For Others

Here is a free ethics course that gives you the first chapter of the 20 chapters of our traditional Permaculture Design Course (PDC) plus lots of free information. We support a lot of permaculture organisations.   We regularly generate free information, commentary, photos, illustrations, cartoons and designs.  Our organic and productive Demonstration site has developed several happy innovations.  We are a carbon-negative eco-business and uphold ISO and EMS standards.  We live the talk by working in our mature permaculture site and in the community.

Testimonials From Our Course Participants

My name is Daniel from South Australia I’m glad to see you’re still offering the PDC. I bought the online course around 2012, and still have the 3 volumes of excellent notes. I’m now at the stage to begin an urban permaculture system with hopefully a food forest, chooks, rabbits, quail, ducks, and possibly urban aquaponics with trout. I find your course notes brilliant, & applicable to what I want to develop with my final property, I’m 59, been interested in permaculture for 30 years. I actually won the best Land Manager in the Mount Lofty Ranges in 2007 for revegetation work done over 10 years on my farm. Doing the course will bring me much joy & happiness, as I miss the farm & animals, but would love to implement what I had but smaller & more intensively. Love your work.
Kind regards Daniel

“Thank you for a wonderful experience at Permaculture Visions.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the tremendous amount of information you provide and the level of detail you offer. At first I wondered how a hands-on subject such as Permaculture would work in an online format, but I quickly found that you provided so much information and guidance that I was able to successfully implement the concepts in my own living space and really make the most of my experience. Your feedback on my assignments was always helpful and your thought-provoking questions made me think things through where I needed to. All in all a great experience. Thanks again.
